Forensic Psychology Scholarships

Founded in 1979, and with campuses in Los Angeles , Chicago, Washington DC, and online, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is the nation's leading nonprofit school exclusively dedicated to psychology and its applications. The Chicago School trains individuals to be engaged professionals in their communities, approach practice and scholarship from the broader view of innovators, transformers, and problem solvers, and use their disciplines to make positive and lasting impact on the world. A cornerstone of The Chicago School mission is its commitment to serving and embracing diverse and underserved communities.

The Department of Forensic Psychology at the Downtown Los Angeles campus is accepting applications for a Chair of the M.A. Forensic and Clinical Forensic Psy.D. programs. The Department Chair provides the day-to-day administrative functions of the department. These duties include providing direction to the faculty with regard to scheduling courses, hiring full and adjunct faculty, chairing meetings, assessing curricular and student assessment data, managing yearly budgets, addressing student concerns, reviewing and assessing accreditation standards and department goals, and coordinating various administrative functions with the Dean of Academic Affairs and other departments as appropriate. The Forensic department has been vital to the growth of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology since the inception of an MA degree in 2003; the doctoral program welcomed their first cohort of students in 2009.

Candidates must have earned a doctoral degree from an APA accredited institution, presently hold licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, and must have extensive forensic experience that reflects a range of experiences with forensic populations and in various settings. In addition, it is expected that candidates will have had substantial experience in administration (that includes fiscal management), diverse delivery models, teaching, and personnel development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the identification and selection of program and professional faculty to teach in the department. The candidate must also be committed to continuing the vision of making The Chicago School's Forensic programs nationally recognized. Evidence of strong teaching, scholarship, and professional involvement within the field of Clinical Forensic Psychology is required. Members of the American Board of Forensic Psychology are highly encouraged to apply.
